Description
A rare and very charming preserve jar dating to c.1900 made from glass, silver plate and ebony.
The entire piece is in the form of a Curling stone with frosted detailing around the circumference of the glass. The lid is made from silver plate and the handle inset with a turned ebony wood handle.
The underside of the lid is signed by the Scottish silversmith / watchmaker, T S Cuthbert, Glasgow. The jar comes complete with a spoon with a "sweep" terminal.
Excellent condition measuring 3 3/4" in diameter x 2 5/8" tall.
