Description
A rare and very fine example of an Art Deco design photograph or picture frame by Cartier.The hefty base seems to be Palladium plated with a fine shiny finish and remaining in superb condition. Both sides are mounted with a cut semi-precious stone which I believe is a coral coloured Jasper. The base is engraved with the iconic signature "Cartier" and the underside impressed "Swiss".
The two plates of glass are the original with bevelled edges which slide into the base with your cherished picture placed in between, it can of course be used for a different photograph to the back and front. The size of the glass is 6" x 4".
A special gem in excellent condition dating to the late twentieth century, c.1980. 5 1/2" x 1 1/2" x 6 1/4" tall.
