A very rare example of a French mid-century modern silver plate and gold plate box by the iconic French fashion house, Hermès of Paris.A stunning design in silverplate with a gilded bronze Horse head to the top, beautifully executed, acting as a handle to lift the lid.
The box is wooden lined, perfect for cigarettes, cigars, cufflinks, Jewelry, pens or desk paraphernalia; or simply enjoy this highly collectable work of art.
The box is fully marked on the side Hermès Paris, Made In France together with the silversmith's mark for Ravinet D'enfert.
The condition is exceptional and looks to have never or rarely used. 19cm x 12cm x 2.7cm (5cm including the applied horsehead).
