Description

A beautiful and very stylish late nineteenth century scent bottle with a globe base and elegant lock neck, all beautifully cut. The glass is a stunning and highly sought-after Cranberry colour graduating to clear at the base of the bottle.
The screw-top lid is made from English sterling silver, hallmarked for Birmingham 1898, making this a true Victorian example. The makers mark is also present M Bros. for the famous top-notch Mappin Brothers. The top of the lid has a vacant circular cartouche which could be engraved by your silversmith if you wished to personalize it.
The interior of the lid is cork-filled, to prevent evaporation of the precious contents.
Excellent condition, measuring 4 3/4" tall x 2 1/4" max.
