Fabulous to find a pair of these early Victorian campaign inkwells made from glass and mounted with silver on copper tops. The screw mechanisms were used to keep them secure during travel, these were often used inside a writing slope or lap desk. Dating to c.1840, nearly 200 years old, they remain in excellent antique condition each measuring 1 3/4" x 1 3/4" x 1 1/2" to top of screw mechanism while the thumb screw is folded flat.
