Description
A fabulous and substantial bottle opener designed by the iconic Parisian fashion house, Hermes and made by the renowned silversmith, Ravinet d’Enfert which made the majority of silver pieces for Hermes.Made from a heavy brass or bronze and silver plated. The novelty shape of horse looks just like the Knight in Chess. It is the curved edge below the jaw that acts as a bottle opener; looks great on the bar or even as a paperweight on a desk.
This example is lucky enough to be signed Hermes / Paris together with the maker mark and "Made In France".
Excellent condition standing 4 5/8" tall x 1 3/4" x 1 1/4". Dating to c. 1970.
