Description

A rare find, these antique "Draughts" or Checkers come complete with their original Mahogany box, which is stamped by the very famous and highly sought-after Chess and games maker, Jacques, London.
Once opened you can see that these are Jacques pieces, lovely quality, turned Boxwood and Ebony, think and chunky and very tactile.
A very desirable feature is the green decoupaged label on the top noting it's contents. 15 counters of each colour, making them perfect for Backgammon too.
Excellent condition dating to around 1910, late Edwardian in era, each counter measuring 1 1/2" in diameter; the Mahogany case measuring 8 1/4" x 3 5/8" x 1 7/8" tall.
