A rather unusual antique English letter opener made from sterling silver and Mother of Pearl. The shell on this example is elegantly shaped. This example also has both a sterling silver ferrule and tip to the end of the handle.
The sterling silver blade bears a full English hallmark for Sheffield 1836. Excellent condition and as useful as beautiful. 8 3/4" in length.
