A very handsome English letter opener with a sterling silver handle decorated on the front with a beautiful panel of blue guilloche enamel, nice and glossy enhancing the decorative engine-turned pattern below. The blue in real life is slightly paler than the photograph.
The blade is also sterling silver fully hallmarked for Sheffield 1895, the front side is beautifully engraved.
Excellent condition, sturdy and very usable; a beautiful way to help with your daily mail. 8 1/4" in length.
