Description
A scarcely found Art Nouveau letter holder, made from a solid English Oak plinth sitting on four original brass ball feet, the underside shows the quality construction.
The front and back cast brass panels are pure Art Nouveau, both incorporating the word "Letters". The reverse side of each panel is stamped with the makers mark W T & S with a stylised sun for the very famous Birmingham metal worker's, William Tonk & Sons.
Very stylish in superb condition dating to the late Victorian or Edwardian era, c.1900. The oak plinth measuring 6" x 3 1/2" x 5" tall to top of central handle.
