Description

A wonderful example of an English or Scottish Snuff Mull, made from beautiful natural horn without damage and the most gorgeous shiny patina.
The lid is mounted with another tablet of horn inset (a natural tight age star hairline, insignificant, shown and noted purely for accuracy) The hinged lid and collar test as sterling silver and is unmarked, very common for this type of piece, dating to around 1830. The snuff mull is also mounted with a shield shaped cartouche.
Superb quality and condition, measuring 3 1/4" x 2 1/2".
