Item Ref

A very elegant Edwardian Jewelry or trinket box made from solid English sterling silver, the underside too in sterling (very often the underside is leather rather than solid silver) and standing on four very stylish legs.
This shaped box is in the form of an elongated shield shape, a very Edwardian motif, used in the early 1900's.
The lid fits well and lifts to reveal a lavishly gilded interior and the box lined in a vibrant jewel toned dark amethyst coloured velvet. There is a full English hallmark for Birmingham 1907, the makers initals are also present, T.H.H for the silversmith, T.H. Hazlewood & Co.
Excellent condition, measuring 3 3/4" x 2 1/2" x 1 1/4" tall.
