Description

A quite magnificent Victorian centrepiece, known as an Epergne, with the three original hand-blown flutes clear glass rims and stems, and clear applied decoration spiralling around the exterior.
The base is made from silver plate, with the full makers mark for the well renowned, quality silversmith, James Deakin. The underside also retains the original fasteners marked "Sheffield".
The stand is exquisite with repousse decoration, all hand-chased. The two side flute holders are supported by an Egyptian revival Sphinx. The central holder comes out of a central classical urn, with the original engraved monogram to one side.
All in superb condition, this really is a show stopper! The base measures 10 3/4" x 4" and stands 16 1/2" tall.
