Description
A wonderfully grand pair of wine coasters or slides, highly decorative and a good large size to accommodate decanters as well as bottles.
The fruit wood bases are covered on the underside to protect your polished furniture.
Each is marked "Plated German Silver", which doesn't mean they are from Germany, it is simply another name for Nickel Silver, referring to it's heritage, developed first in Saxe-Meiningen, Germany, in 1824, hence its other name as German Silver.
This pair dates to the Victorian era, around 1880. Each measures 8" in diameter with the woods measuring approximately 4 3/4" in diameter.
