Description
A wonderfully elegant example standing on four tall cabriole legs. Made from English sterling silver with a hallmark for London 1908, Edwardian in era. The makers initials WC are present for the top notch London silversmith, William Comyns.
The lid has a lovely raised border with a foliate decoration which surrounds the magnificent and glossy piece of period Tortoiseshell inlaid with the prettiest silver pique inlay featuring an overflowing urn of flowers.
The lid fits well and once opened reveals the original velvet lining. A magnificent box in superb condition standing 2 1/2" tall; the lid measuring 3 5/8" x 2 3/4".
