A very handsome antique English table box, perfect for papers, photographs and other keepsakes, the box has been re-lined in a hand marbelled paper on the inside, creating a fresh interior ready for use.
The box is made from exotic (and expensive) Rosewood, beautifully inlaid with intricate Mother of Pearl or Nacre shell. The top and front panels are framed with inlaid brass stringing.
Complete with a working key, the box dates to around 1830, and remains in excellent condition. 11" x 8" x 4 3/4".
