handsome antique english inkstand inkwells c1880

Description

A fabulous quality desk set made from solid English Oak, beautifully shaped and mounted with cast polished brass handles to each side, two knobs to the front and a false escutcheon for further decoration.
The top is also mounted at the rear with a double pen rest, again in polished brass allowing for the storage of two dip pens. The top has a carved out dish between the inkwells for pen nibs.
The outstanding feature of this superb piece is the the two grand cut crystal inkwells, a fabulous large size, each measuring 3 1/4" in diameter and standing 3 5/8" tall, both in fabulous undamaged condition. The stand spans 16" across handle to handle x 9" x 8 1/4" tall to top of pen rest.
