Description

An exceptional English games box made from exotic Rosewood dating to around 1840. The top is inlaid with a Mother of Pearl plaque with a complimentary escutcheon to the front which houses the working key.
The box opens to reveal the cr�me de la cr�me of Cribbage boards, made from Ebony and Mother of Pearl in exquisite undamaged condition, which stands on four beautiful little turned shell feet.
Underneath the board are four wonderful sets of period playing cards, three complete and one missing the 2 of Spades (the set furthest to the right); the cards alone are highly collectible.
A superb and rare offering in excellent condition. 13" x 5 1/4" x 3".
