Description
A magnificent and very grand looking early Victorian salver dating to around 1850. The front is where the makers mark can be found for Roberts and Slater of Sheffield, which were only active from 1845 to 1858, so quite easy to date this piece.
The salver stands on four cast reticulated legs and the cast raised border is too reticulated, all hand chased. The centre is all hand engraved surrounding the original monogram, which looks to read G G.
A very regal piece in magnificent condition, measuring 14" in diameter.
