magnificent stag handled oak silver plated salad bowl and servers by daniel arter c1890

These Victorian salad bowls are always in demand but none more than this particular model. This one, with two fabulous Stag head handles is the most sought-after of all, so I was thrilled to find it on a recent buying trip.
The Oak bowl stands on a stepped foot and has a shield shaped vacant mount to both back and front. The rim is marked for the well renowned Daniel and Arter. The original ceramic liner is intact and undamaged.
The bowl comes complete with a pair of salad servers with Oak handles and gilded bowls. Dating to around 1890, this gem is in superb condition. The rim diameter of the bowl measures 9 1/4", spanning 12 1/2" handle to handle.8 1/2" tall to top of Stag antlers.
