Dating to around 1890 / 1900, this simply fabulous novelty cruet is quite the rare find. Made in the form of a car, the wheels turn to move the car around the dining table; made to be a fun novelty piece, creating quite the talking piece at a late Victorian dinner table.
Made from silver plate, the underside is stamped with the makers initials for William Briggs and Company of Sheffield, it also incorporates EPNS for Electro Plated Nickel Silver. The steering wheel and lamp to the front are lavishly gilded.
The Glass pieces are all original and in fine condition without damage.
A real gem in excellent condition, measuring 7 3/4" x 4 1/2".
