It's not very often we come across these late Victorian or Edwardian cheese dishes and lovely to find one from a Scottish silversmith, Hamilton and Laidlaw of Glasgow. The front of the cover is pierced or reticulated to allow the cheese to breath, the lid lifts to reveal the original glass liner intact. Excellent condition measuring 8" x 7 3/4" x 4" tall to top of handle.
