Description

A truly magnificent four bottle decanter case made from silverplate and fully marked for the Sheffield silversmith's, W.W. Harrison. Also marked EP for Electro-Plated Nickel Silver.
The silver case is exquisite beautifully reticulated or pierced with cut-out panels to showcase the beautiful cut crystal decanters inside. Either side of the case has a ring handle and the front has a lock complete with a working key.
The top is an absolute joy, beautifully engraved incorporating Cherubs picking grapevines, a fruit vignette and the monograms of the original owners (I would suspect originally a wedding gift) dated October 27 1868; this would have belonged to a very wealthy family.
About as good as they get and and a rare find in excellent condition. The box measures 6 1/4" x 7" x 9 1/4" tall. Each decanter measures 3" x 2 3/4" x 7 3/4" tall.
