Description

The finest quality Victorian fish serving set, ready for use. The handles are made from polished Ivory without splits and the ferrules and terminals are made from sterling silver with a full English hallmark for Sheffield 1881. The makers initials are also present for the silversmith, Joseph Braham.
The silver fittings are also lucky enough to have the diamond shaped English Registration lozenge, reserved for fine quality items made in the Victorian era.
The blade and fork tines are unmarked but I would suspect these sections are silver plated, beautifully engraved with a classic Fern design, very Victorian and very English.
The box is made from solid English Oak with a push button to the front, pressed to open the lid. The interior is pristine, with the blue silk, velvet and cord trim all immaculate.
Mint condition, the box measures 14 1/2" x 4 3/4" x 1 1/2". The knife measures 13 1/2" in length and the fork, 10 1/4".
