Description
A grand and important old Sheffield large meat / food dome dating to around 1830.
There is a "skirt" that runs around the dome incorporating cast fruit and foliage sprays, all hand chased. The beautiful handle is also all hand chased.
Both sides is engraved with a very grand family crest topped with a Moor's head, the motto reads "Quod verum tutum" meaning "What is true is safe"; I believe this crest is for the Sim family.
