Description
A pretty and romantic Edwardian heart shaped trinket or ring box standing on it's four original little feet.The lid has a raised continuous Acanthus leaf border and the centre is inset with an antique panel of Tortosieshell with lovely markings and colours ranging from golden champagne to rich chocolate brown and everything in between.
The shell is beautifully inlaid with a silver pique overflowing classical urn.
The box opens to reveal the original fitted interior in good condition.
The underside has a full English hallmark for Birmingham 1906 together with the makers initials for the well renowned silversmith, Henry Matthews.
Excellent condition measuring 2 1/8" x 2 1/2" x 1 1/4" tall.
