Description
A fabulous miniature playing card box made from English Sterling silver hallmarked for Birmingham 1901, late Victorian in era. The makers initials are also present for the silversmith, T.H. Hazlewood & Co.The domed hinged lid and the four sides are all decorated with repousse or embossed scenes, in this case they are all Japanese scenes.
The lid lifts to reveal a fabulous lavishly gilded interior and what is quite wonderful is the two original packs of complete playing cards by Goodhall of London, all the cards are in superb condition and retain their original gilded edges.
Excellent condition, measuring 2" tall and 1 1/2" x 1 1/2".
