Description
A charming and romantic pill box in a pretty heart shape, slightly larger than most, measuring 2 1/4" x 2" x 1 1/4" tall.The box is decorated with an embossed or repousse floral and foliate design. The slightly domed hinged lid fits well and has a small central vacant cartouche.
The interior retains the original gilding with some discoloration. The underside of the box has a full English hallmark for Birmingham 1895, a true Victorian example. The makers initials are also present for the silversmith, Matthew John Jessop.
Excellent condition.
