Description

These highly sought after convertible trays are a scarce find, this is a most unusual long slim configuration.
This one has just come back from the Silversmith, where it has been professionally polished. It stands on four attractive bracket feet and next to each foot is a clip which are pulled out to release the base panels; there is the original Mahogany panel and glass panel which sits on top; the wooden panel can then be removed to create a clean fresh look, perfect for serving drinks, canapes or deserts; a great versatile and highly sought-after tray.
The galleried tray has two elegant carrying handles and the underside is where the mark for the famous silversmith, Mappin and Webb can be found. Edwardian in era, the tray dates to c.1900/1910.
Excellent condition with light wear commensurate with age. The tray spans 23" handle to handle x 6 1/2" x 3 1/2" tall to top of each handle.
