Description

A beautifully shaped English sterling silver jewelry or trinket box fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1911 together with the makers mark for the silversmith, Edward Souter Barnsley.
The box stands on four shaped legs and the lid has a raised border surrounding the inset Tortoiseshell panel with a glossy patina inlaid with the prettiest silver pique floral and foliate continuous garland.
The lid fits well and the hinge in perfect shape; once opened the interior cream silk lining is revealed.
A superb box in excellent condition measuring 4" x 2 1/2" x 1 3/4" tall.
