Description

Pretty and romantic, this stunning heart shaped box stands on four wonderfully shaped and decorated legs.
The lid is inset with a period piece of Tortosieshell with attractive markings and colours ranging from golden champagne to rich chocolate brown. The shell is beautifully inlaid with silver pique work and the panel of shell is framed with a raised border of a continuous foliate garland.
The lid opens to reveal a pale blue silk lined interior. The underside is fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1907, Edwardian in era. The makers initials are also present for the well renowned silversmith, Henry Matthews.
Excellent condition measuring 3" x 2 1/2" x 1 5/8" tall.
