Description
A magnificent and highly decorative Art Nouveau kettle on stand with the original burner intact.Although not marked WMF, this was an export example made for the English market with all other marks being those of WMF includng the I/0 which means the normal thickness of silver deposited on the surface of the base metal. The EP for Electro-Plated was added to UK imports and the NS for nickel silver. The underside reveals the capacity being 1 litre.
This stylish kettle is topped with a carved Ebony handle. The lid retains the original presentation inscription for a wedding gift dated 1910, great provenance.
Excellent condition with minor wear commensurate with age. 9" handle to spout (max) x 8" (max) x 11 1/2" to top of handle.
