Description
A handsome early Edwardian playing card box engraved on the domed top "Bridge".
Fully hallmarked, the silver was struck in the highly collectable assay office of Chester in the year 1903. The makers initials are also present for the silversmith, William Neale.
The box opens to reveal a wooden double compartment lining and a leather lined interior to the lid; the same leather is used on the underside. I have included two (modern) packs of cards to finish the look, the original silk ribbon (minor wear) is intact to place cards and score pads under if desired.
A very elegant English box in excellent condition (minor wear commensurate with age). 5 1/4" x 4 1/4" x 2" tall.
