large antique english sterling silver heart box cherubs angels 1898

Description

A handsome large Victorian heart shaped trinket box with a pair of winged Cherubs / Angels to the lid and an English registration number underneath.
The sides of the heart with embossed or repousse fluted decoration. The hinged lid fits well and once opened reveals the original gilded interior and the full hallmark can be found on the base for Sheffield 1898, a true Victorian example. The makers mark is also present for the silversmith, William Neale.
Excellent condition measuring 3" x 3" x 1 1/2".
