Description

A truly charming cold-painted Vienna figural bronze.
The naturalistic base complete with Ivy leaves, then sits the birds nest with intricate detail and subtle colourings. Inside the nest sits one of the two birds protecting eggs below. The other bird presumably bringing food to the nest.
The underside is marked Depose and Geschutz (both French and German trade marks) and the number of the bronze.
Dating to c.1890 / 1900 it remains in fine condition with wear commensurate with age. 6" x 5" (max) x 2" tall.
