Description
Definitely the largest perpetual calendar I have had, and even better, made from Mahogany.
This impressive oversized example stands a very grand 20" tall. Either side are beautifully turned knobs used to change the day date and of the calendar(it is important to use both sides at the same time on a piece this size to avoid damage to the blinds inside), moving the paper rollers forward and back; protected by a glazed front.
This looks a truly impressive piece on top of furniture in an office, study or hallway but retains original brass brackets for wall-hanging if desired.
It was opened and cleaned by our restorers, it looks like new screws had to be used on the underside to secure properly. There is a fine old grain shrikage crack above the S in Sunday and below the S in September, stable, mentioned for accuracy and commensurate with age.
A grand piece in excellent condition measuring 15" wide x 4 1/4" deep x 20" tall.
