Description

A truly magnificent and scarce novelty inkwell, cast in the form of a Crocodile / Alligator, in heavy solid brass.
The hinged lid to the centre lifts to reveal a central section with two original removable ceramic ink chambers. Either side of this central section, is a section to store pen nibs, sealing wax etc.
Superb quality and condition and an impressive size measuring 10 1/2" in length x 4 1/2" wide (max) x 2" tall. Victorian in era, dating to c. 1890.
