A beautiful example of a late Victorian desk-top pen tray made from English sterling silver.
Of course what makes it so special and collectable are the repousse scenes of Reynold's Angels in the centre and pairs of winged Cherub or Putti figures to the sides.
The full English hallmark is hidden in the decorative fluted side, struck for Birmingham 1899, late Victorian in era. The makers marks is also present for the well renowned silversmith, Henry Matthews.
Just as useful for rings, bracelets or perhaps a wristwatch, or simply enjoy it's beauty.
Excellent condition measuring 8 1/2" x 2 1/4" x 1/2".
