Description
A most unusual and handsome inkstand or inkwell made from a combination of English Oak, glass and brass.The solid Oak base has a polished brass gallery to the top which houses the tactile glass inkwell which has a brass hinged lid, the top inset with an Oak top mounted in the centre with the most wonderful brass Owl's face with superb detail and retaining his two original glass eyes.
Late Victorian in era, dating to c.1890/1900. The base has a diameter measuring 7 3/4" in diameter and standing 5" tall.
