A fabulous find and rarely seen, especially in this full size, these figural boxes in the form of a drum are usually quite small, this is full sized measuring 5 3/4" in diameter x 6 1/2" tall including the finial.
The finial is cast in the form of two Lyre sitting on top of sheet music
The underside has the mark for the very famous luxury silversmith, Mappin and Webb.
Dating to around 1890, late Victorian in era, the box remains in excellent condition.
