Description

Something I have never seen before, and I doubt I will ever see another. Made from English silver plate by the top-notch Sheffield silversmith, Thomas Bradbury & Sons, it has been fashioned in the form of a knife box, quite stunning with a folding finial just like a Georgian knife box.
The shaped front has been engraved with a letter "B" either the initial of the original owner or possibly to indicate the contents.
The hinged lid fits well and reveals a gilded interior once opened. The underside is fully marked by the silversmith.
Superb quality and condition measuring 4 3/4" x 4 3/4" x 6 3/4" tall. Victorian in era dating to c.1880
