Description
A very handsome late Victorian / early Edwardian tobacco box in a very simple and elegant design made from English solid silver.
These boxes have fabulous flush hinges are are opened by squeezing the sides of the box and the sprung lid popping open, it is then snapped shut once finished.
The interior reveals a lavishly gilded finish. This is where all the hallmarks can be found for Birmingham 1899, the makers initials are also present for the well renowned silversmith, Adie & Lovekin.
Excellent condition measuring 3" x 2 3/8" x 1" tall.
