A truly magnificent drinks / decanter box made from exotic Coromandel mounted with polished brass mounts inset with a plethora of different kinds of cabochon cut and polished onyx stones. I would expect the box to made by the top-notch G Betjemann & Sons of London but I couldn't find a label which surprises me for such a top quality piece of furniture. The lid lifts (complete with a working key) and the swing doors open to reveal three fabulous circular cut crystal decanters, twelve small liquor glasses each in it's own gilded cradle. Behind the decanters is a gilded bronze drinks tray / salver with an engraved front and a central armorial crest. The underside is marked with the crossed arrows mark for Creswick & Co. of Sheffield. Beneath all of this is a cedar lined cigar drawer, with adjustable dividers to accommodate a variety of cigars. An impressive piece for the finest of homes in excellent condition dating to the late Victorian era, around 1880. 15" x 10" x 15" tall.
