Description
A stunning Edwardian photograph frame made from pierced or reticulated sterling silver, beautifully decorated with a mythical face in each corner surrounded with floral and foliate motifs, with hand chased highlights.The square frame has a circular aperture with a simple polished border, the original bevelled glass remains intact.
The backing is the original blue velvet covering with a folding hinged easel back stand, wear commensurate with age.
The silver is fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1905, Edwardian in era. The makers initials are also present for the well renowned silversmith, Henry Matthews.
Excellent condition measuring 8 1/2" x 8 1/2" with the circular glazed aperture measuring 6" in diameter.
