Description

A fabulous late Victorian playing card box made from solid sterling silver fully hallmarked for the London assay office and the year 1899; the makers initials are also present for the silversmith, William & George Neal.
This simple and stylish box is perfect for any interior from traditional to contemporary and made from a good gauge of silver. The hinged lid clips in place nicely and once opened reveals a gilded interior.
The two packs of playing cards are complete and are in really lovely condition, clearly having rarely been used. They were manufactured in the Vienna, Austria.
Not a full size box and cards, the box measuring 2 1/4" wide x 1 1/2" deep x 2 3/4" tall.
