Description
An unusual Cocktail Shaker, a more squat shape than most, a good quality heavy construction to be expected by the top-notch silversmith, Mappin and Webb.The top of the cap has a central dimple, the underside also having a dimple. The underside is where the full marks can be found " Triple Deposit / Mappin & Webb's Prince's Plate / London & Sheffield". I wander if this example was made for the French market as it has "M&W Fabrication Anglaise" (Made In England) on the underside.
The top section removes to reveal an ice breaker inside. An Art Deco example dating to c.1930. Excellent condition measuring 7 1/2" tall with a diameter measuring 3 5/8".
