Description
A grand large heart shaped photograph frame made from English sterling silver with intricate pierced or reticulated work incorporating Dolphins on either "leg" and at the bottom in the centre is a winged Cherub / Putti figure.The top is crowned with a vacant cartouche. The silver is fully hallmarked for London 1898, a true late Victorian example. The makers mark is present for the top-notch silversmith; Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co - William Gibson & John Lawrence Langman.
The backing is made from solid English Oak incorporating a folding easel stand. The heart shaped aperture has a bevelled glass to protect your cherished picture measuring approximately 6 3/4" x 6"; the overall measurement of the frame is 11" x 9 1/2", a truly impressive piece. Excellent condition.
