Description
A rare find, these are scarcely found, made from an early Celluloid and most probably German origin.
The metal underside reveals the wind up mechanism, the bell is rung by pressing the beak; a loud, pleasant but very authoritative ring is produced.
The eyes are glass and without damage.
Dating to c.1900 it remains in excellent condition (one old hairline repair, shown and mentioned for accuracy and almost invisible in person) 4" in diameter x 2 1/2" tall.
