Description
A very handsome Georgian compass dating to around 1800 set in a hinged mahogany block measuring 2" square.
The compass has a shapely blued-steel needle (marked N & S) and the card divided into degrees and also showing all the points of the compass.
The needle is held by a detent which comes into play when the lid is closed.
Excellent condition, the compass measuring 1 5/8" in diameter and the case 2" square x 3/4".
