Description
A beautiful late Victorian biscuit barrel or box made from solid English Oak beautifully carved and mounted silver silver plated fittings including a reticulated or pierced border to top and bottom; the two materials are always a winning combination.
The lid is embossed with a floral and foliate design. Once removed, the original ceramic creamware lining is revealed.
Excellent condition, dating to c.1890/1900 and measuring 6 1/4" in diameter x 7" tall to top of lid finial.
